Let’s face it, we are not dog people, but it would still be nice to have a little Guppies company at the end of a long day’s work. It is not only right for your pet, but it is also healthy for you, and it has a lifestyle that suits a pet. If you are like me, you probably don’t have pets as often as you would like, even if you have them, because they’re too much fun.

Perhaps the best solution is a pet fish and not just any fish, but a guppy fish. One fish has the advantage of being known to be easier to keep than goldfish, and that is the guppies.

 They’re Simple to Breed

Guppies don’t have a long life span, but that doesn’t mean you have to go back to the pet store to fill the tank. Raising guppies is easy, and females can give birth to 30 to 40 cubs a month, so they are an excellent food and shelter source.

If you are interested in growing your guppy stock, this is not too difficult, and you can also help with the selection and breeding of individual species. The only thing to keep in mind is that you want to see the babies grow into adults, so you should be there at birth, or the adult guppies will eat their babies for lunch.

 They’re Beautiful

You may have noticed that guppies have a distinctive tail, but you may not have recognized their incredible diversity in coloring, size, shape, or even appearance.

The males are smaller and flatter than the females, but they still carry colorful tails, and the female still carries a colorful tail. There are various colors for guppies, ranging from robust and all-red wine to colorful tails with marbled patterns to bright orange, yellow, red, green, blue, black, or orange-green.

 They’re Low-Maintenance

Guppies are incredibly easy to keep alive; they are great for mosquito control, eat pretty much anything, feed in tanks, keep the tanks clean, and are happy. They provide everything they are fed and eaten in the tank, so they are great at fighting mosquitoes.

If you get healthy fish, it is best to buy them from a pet shop that sources them from local breeders rather than imported fish, as they are less stressed during transport and adapted to life in the aquarium and not to a breeding ground. If you start with healthier fish in your stock, you may be able to avoid some problems, but you should be wary of diseases like salmonella, chikungunya, and cholera that you can catch.

 They’re Tiny and Affordable

Guppies don’t need much space, so you don’t need a huge aquarium and guppies like warm water, fresh air, and plenty of food.

If you only want a handful of beautiful fish, you can keep them on your desk or bookshelf. Guppies as pets are low investment, and the fish themselves cost less than half what they cost at the pet store. You can set up an aquarium at home by taking a used tank and filter, but the flakes and food you need are inexpensive.

You’ll Never Get Tired With Them.

It is practically impossible to get a better idea of what a guppy with its fins looks like in a different light than when you are in the middle of one of the world’s most famous aquariums, SeaWorld.

It is especially true when breeding guppies, as the offspring can offer surprising color combinations. There is even an International Fancy Guppy Association, for those who feel a little more comfortable with their guppy looks.
